The bold statement from Porsche's marketing team definitely would have raised some eye brows amongst Japanese auto purists and if you were born pre 90's you would more than likely find it difficult to argue with the statement.

Let's rewind back to 1989, Porsche has built a solid reputation for building machines that win & dominate motorsport over the 70's and 80's. The flagship 911 has undergone some huge development changes in the 964 which combines classic shape with modern features. Such features include a step up in on-board electronics, wind tunnel aerodynamics, a flat underbody to reduce drag, electronic rear spoiler and a 959 inspired AWD system.

The R32 Skyline GTR being the most successful in motorsport both locally in Australia and worldwide. The late 80s / early 90s saw Nissan create some of the most desirable and collectable cars today that we know today as the GTR, Skyline / Silvia / 180sx / 200sx.

My question to you, if you were born in the 90s, what car did you have as a poster on your wall? Was it a supercar with doors opening upwards? Was it an American muscle car? Was it a Japanese go-fast coupe with forced induction?
